Do you Care for your ugg boots or any other shoes?

People buy shoes from hawkers which generally become unusable after small period of time. Even branded shoe like ugg boots, moda in pelle shoes, gabor shoes become unserviceable if we don’t take care of them. We can prolong life of our shoes by following simple but effective pieces of advice.
A. Polish- As you know leather is one of the most important parts of a shoe. Leather is very strong and long lasting but if you don’t take care of it properly, it may dry and crack. You can polish to maintain its shine. Besides shine, polishing your shoes moisturize shoe leather as well. In case you don’t have a branded polish you can use castor oil to make your shoes water proof or you can use candle wax inside your shoes to water proof it.
B. Special care for Nubuck- Nubuck and suede leathers are just like other leathers but they are quite vulnerable. You can use waterproofing material to protect shoes from water. Water is a natural enemy of nubuck and suede. You can use a light brush to remove the dirt. There are lots of products available in the market which can be used to protect your shoes. If you can’t repair your shoes or don’t know much about shoe repair, then you can approach professional cobbler.
C. Fabric shoes- Now a day’s people are buying fabric shoes which have thick fabric especially for sports, tennis, rock climbing, morning walk etc. These shoes are getting popular day by day as they are easily washable and do not require special care. You can use detergent to wash them.
D. Proper storage- You should have rack or whatever you can afford to keep shoes intact. It is seen that family members often crush your shoes beneath their feet inadvertently.
E. Avoid sunlight-Never put your shoes under direct sunlight or as it might damage leather of your shoes.
F. Two pairs of shoes-You should have more than two shoe pair as wearing shoes daily can damage your shoes fast.
G. Wet shoes-If your shoe gets drenched, dry it immediately as water can cause wrinkles on it. You can use waterproofing oil or anything to waterproof them.
H. Shoe horn – You are advised to use shoe horn to protect your shoe heel from getting damaged.
I. Keep a shoe bag or kit- You should have a plastic bag to keep your shoes while travelling.
