How can I find out if my "original" painting is in fact a real original?..pinup knowledge is a plus.
I have acquired a painting by the 40s pinup artist, Earl Moran. The lady who sold it to me claimed it as an original, it has his signature, and it appears to be an original work. The problem? In all my research on him and his works, I have never seen a photo or a description of the painting I have. How and Where do I go to get it legitimized? And what do I do if I find out that not only is it an original, but an unknown painting?
the simple answer is to take it to a specialist art appraiser/ auctioneer who will give an expert opinion.
