Interesting And Little Known Facts About Babies

It's common knowledge that babies are fun and cute. They get to wear super cute and goofy looking clothes. When else in life can a person get away with wearing a sweater emblazoned with a clown without being teased? Most people think that there isn't much to being a baby. These same people seem to think that, except for an inability to communicate properly, babies are not that much different from adults. Babies are actually quite complex creatures who have very specific needs. Here is some (hopefully) new information about babies. By the way, don't forget to read up on ways to stop bedwetting!

Babies can sense light changes even in the womb. There are millions of fibers and nerves that make up your eyes. The coordination needed for the eyes to function properly is extraordinary. Babies have functioning eyes by just a few months after they are conceived. By about six months into your pregnancy your baby will be sensitive to light. Another amazing "eye fact" about babies: most Caucasian babies are born with blue eyes but will "settle in" to their permanent eye color by the time they are a few months old. Caucasian babies do not usually keep their "original" eye color (blue). So do what you can not to let your heart get set on having a blue eyed child. They might change before you know it! Even while a baby is in the womb he can hear sounds, but you already know that. Doctors have proven that babies can hear and react to the sounds that they hear-sometimes very strongly! The ears of an infant are sensitive to different decibel levels of sound-both inside of and outside of the womb. You can hurt a baby's ears even before he is born! The loudest sound your infant should be subjected to (inside the womb or outside of it) is the household vacuum cleaner. You will soon learn that even your vacuum cleaner might be too loud for your baby so keep the noise level to a minimum and try to avoid heavy traffic or construction when you leave the house as it can be too loud as well.

Babies have a harder time communicating verbally and often resort to physical communication until they learn how to talk. This is why so many parents swear by the "Baby Signs" program. These parents teach their kids how to sign for things like food, drink, diaper changes, naps, etc and it makes it a lot easier for babies to communicate what they need. Kids who are taught how to communicate through physical means like the "baby signs" program grow up to be better overall communicators than kids who were simply taught how to talk.

You will be astounded by all of the things that you can learn about babies. The rapidity of baby growth is astounding to most people. Have you learned the exact process by which a baby matures? Has anybody told you just how many changes occur between when your baby is conceived and when he or she has a baby of his or her own? Infant development is an incredibly interesting subject to learn about-just look at the neat things you've learned already. Last but not least, look over this excellent bed wetting info. Highly recommended.
