Bellagio Thief Makes Off With $1.5 Million Of Poker Chips
A man who robbed the Bellagio gambling house is on the run from Las Vegas police. The Bellagio robbery ended up costing the casino $1.5 million worth of playing poker chips. The Suncoast Gambling house was robbed less than a week ago, though that theft netted less than $20,000. He won't have to take out a payday loan anytime soon, unless he is busted.
Simple Bellagio robbery
Las Vegas security in casinos is extremely good. The Bellagio theft was pretty simple though. According to Las Vegas metro police, a 5-foot-10 inch tall man parked his motorcycle at the valet of the Bellagio around 4 a.m. Tues. He went to a craps table with his helmet nevertheless on and demanded chips with a gun. The dealer handed over approximately $1.5 million worth of chips. The Bellagio thief quickly left the gambling house. He left on his motorcycle after getting the chips in his backpack.
Thief may have robbed both Bellagio and Suncoast
The motorcycle-riding Bellagio thief might not have began with the Bellagio casino. The cashier’s cage in Suncoast was robbed of poker chips by a man with a gun who was wearing a motorcycle helmet on Dec. 9. Both robbers also used a black sport motorcycle as a getaway vehicle. The theft at the Suncoast netted only about $20,000. Police believe the consistent pattern indicates the very same individual committed both robberies.
It appeared too simple for the Bellagio robbery
There is “legendary” security in many of the Las Vegas casinos. Pulling off two large robberies within the space of a week is fairly impressive. Many wonder how a man could possibly have done that working alone. There was a large poker tournament with security focused on other things during the Suncoast theft. Somehow though, the Bellagio robbery was able to get $1.5 million in chips stolen with a simple walk in and walk out. Is it really that easy to make the Bellagio robbery happen? Maybe there was something more going on.
