Why Do We Feel The Need To Be Changing Our Mobile Phones All The Time
Frequently changing our mobile phones is something that a lot of us feel pressurised into doing. Every time that a new mobile phone is introduced to the market there will be a lot of fuss about it and the things it can do and this makes us feel that we should have one of these now to be in with the latest trends. I have spent an absolute fortune on mobile phones over the years and it can sometimes feel like a big waste of money. I will get rid of my old phone for a new phone with better functions only to find that I'm not interested in these new functions once the novelty wears off. The new mobile phone is just something that I carry about with me as usual and only really use for calls and texts.
Of course there have been a few exceptional phones in recent years. When I say this I have the Android phone and IPhone in mind. They have really advanced in terms of the functionality they offer but do we really need all these devices. These days I carry around at least three devices with me all the time which can allow me to surf on the web; my iPhone, my PSP, and my laptop. I'm also itching to buy a new iPad and that will mean four ways to connect to the internet when I'm on the move.
Every time I buy a new device I say to myself that, that is going to be the last one I will buy. The fact is though, that I know this is just an empty threat. Despite my gripes I do love all this new technology and I think it is great the way things keep on improving. Maybe if I begin donating my old mobile phones to charity I'll feel less bad about the waste. The one thing for sure is though, that when the next hot thing arrives on the scene I'll be itching to get it.
