How to Create an Inspired Living Room from a Bold Painting
Every memorable design needs vision, and your living room is no exception. Using something to refer to as your working inspiration can keep your design focused. Selecting a canvas art for your design base frees up your creativity to come up with even more intricate design ideas, because you do not have to linger over each tone choice.
Pre-Made Palette
The great thing about using a piece of art as design inspiration is that you get the advantage of a predefined color palette to work from. Look at your painting and determine the overriding hue to use as your living room's main accent color. Then consider the other colors in the painting, so you can select a couple of additional colors for your design. Make one of these other two colors a pale neutral color to embrace as your wall color, and then you can make the other color a secondary accent hue to develop depth and interest into your room design. So, particularly if you are not very good at pulling unique colors together, selecting your color palette from an inspiration wall decor is a great way to choose a coherent and attractive color palette.
Pulling Out the Theme
Selecting elements out of your inspiration painting and including them in your living room design is an alternative way to include unique ideas into your décor. You may wish to create a seashore inspired design in your living room if your painting is of waves breaking on the shore. The natural thing that results when you use an inspiration painting for your room’s design is that your hues and your design will automatically go flawlessly together. Since you will use your color palette to not only paint the room but to furnish it as well, using a central idea as depicted in the painting’s subject matter proves to be a very effective way to change the look of your living room. While you are using tones from your picture throughout you living room design, you can also use patterns and foliage to pull your look together. For example, if you have a cactus in your Arizona painting, then bringing in a cactus in your room’s furnishings is a great way to bring together your design.
Unifying the Room with an Inspiration Focal Point
Using your inspiration painting as a central point in your living room design is a great way to give your room a unified feeling. If the painting is very large, then it can stand on its own as the focal point of the room. But even if the picture is tiny in size, you can group it with other like pieces and build your focal point in the room. For instance, you may group a smaller beach themed artwork with a large shelf containing a crystal bowl filled with seashells and a lightly scented pillar candle.
